Monday, October 15 - Dubbo to Warren

Met with Peta and Matt at the Central West CMA (Catchment Management Authority) in Dubbo. After the interview, we headed up to Warren on what we would call back roads. We were definitely out in the bush. The road we took ran right along the Macquarie Marshes (one of the projects we were involved in the interview process).

We stopped along side the road an walked about 1k in to the Macquarie River. Silver crested cockitoos were everywhere and very noisy. They weren't happy we disturbed them.

Here's one type of school bus the kids might take.

In some towns, they may have ridden a much larger coach bus.

We did see more kangaroos on this drive. Like our deer, roos pose a real problem when you're driving on the roads at night. We saw lots of dead roos on the road.

For dinner, we ate at the Australian Services Club, very much like our Vets clubs. Look at what Bill ate ... dinosaur bones

Back to our room at the Warren Motor Inn to write up our interview reports and then sleep. It was a LONG drive to Warren, about 5 hours. We're tired.
